Biosynthesis of AG:C20H9CLO5AG:Carbon using Opuntia Cochenillifera Fruit Extract and its Electrochemical Study for Antioxidant Applications
Abstract
Dichlorofluresceinic acid (C20H10ClO5) has been used in Fazan’s method for argentometric analyses. Present
work describe the cost effective, bio-synthesis of silver:silver dichlororflureceinate (Ag:C20H9ClO5Ag) and preparation of
Ag:C20H9ClO5Ag:C composite for electrochemical study. XRD, FTIR and UV-Vis were used to confirm the formation of
material. TEM demonstrates the formation of spherical and rod like structures with variable sizes ranging from 21.40 to
47.21 nm. Electrochemical analysis of the prepared composite has been carried out using cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 0.5 M
20 ml H2SO4. CVs were carried out at high scan rates 50 to 5000 mVs-1 in the potential window – 0.6 to 0.9 V. The prepared
composite show no oxidation peak at all but the reduction peak becomes more prominent with scan rate indicating the
applicability of the prepared material as the antioxidant against the anionic radicals in atmosphere.
