Abstract : The brain of any embedded system is its Processor. The most important component of a Spacecraft is its On-Board Computer (OBC) or its Central Processing Unit. Since it is the most critical unit of the entire satellite, rigorous testing of its hardware and software is very important. An hardware emulator based software testing, is the best test method in terms of test coverage, testing speed and closeness to actual scenario. In this paper, the author presents the design for a hardware emulator, that can be used to test the software for a LEON-3 based On-Board Computer.
